Bobby ‘The YAK’ Yaldwyn, former Bondi Rescue star and retired decorated paramedic, has finally removed himself from the frontline and has turned his focus to educating others on everything First Aid.
Bobby has spent 18 years working as a professional lifeguard on Australia’s busiest beach and has spent over 15 years as a paramedic with Ambulance NSW. He holds an Advanced Diploma in Paramedical Science and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and has also served as an educator for Ambulance NSW. During his career Bobby has performed countless successful resuscitations and has hands on experience treating almost every medical and traumatic event imaginable - all of which are experiences that he draws on when passing on his wealth of knowledge to the participants in his First Aid courses. Bobby also utilises qualified lifeguards and paramedics to assist with his first aid teaching and provides a fun and safe environment for all students.
In addition to his decorated career, Bobby also spends time helping with several local charities. He regularly assists with the North Bondi Surf Life Saving Club Nippers Program, where he teaches children how to swim and paddle boards in the ocean and provides water safety for the training squads. Being a surf coach, Bobby also spends time volunteering for Ocean Heroes – a charity who work with individuals on the autism spectrum and their families, aiming to improve their wellbeing, confidence and self-esteem through surfing programs.
